Berkeley Painting Club - Studio Intensive
Studio Art Intensive is for students who are ready to sharpen their skills and expand their creative practice in a focused studio environment, combining technical instruction with experimentation, personal exploration, and individualized guidance in a fun, supportive setting where students can connect with others who are serious about art. The early fall session covers figure drawing and portraits, where students develop observational drawing skills by working from live models and photo references. In painting, guided exercises and projects strengthen technique using Golden Open Acrylics — which dry more slowly than standard acrylics and allow for blending and other effects usually only possible with oil — giving students the tools to bring their ideas to life with intention. And in independent projects, each student designs and completes a self-directed piece with one-on-one mentoring, critiques, and individualized support tailored to their own artistic goals.
All supplies are provided for drawing. Students will need their own set of Golden Open acrylic paints (slow drying acrylics) and brushes. Students may bring their own or purchase through the studio for $100..
