Berkeley Painting Club - Teen Creative Drawing
Creative Drawing: Comics & Zines is a studio class for students interested in developing their own ideas through comics, zines, visual storytelling, and artist-made publications. Drawing inspiration from independent comics, feminist zine culture, illustration, and contemporary artists, students build practical drawing, design, and storytelling skills while developing an individual approach to their work.

Students work with ink, alcohol markers, collage, and other materials while exploring line work, hand lettering, image and text, color, composition, and page design. Projects may include character development and turnarounds, storyboarding, sequential drawing, comics, zines, posters, and small editions.

Demonstrations and structured projects introduce new techniques, while longer and increasingly independent projects give students room to develop their own visual style and direction.  All supplies are provided..
